Facebook Pay – Make Payments through Whatsapp, Instagram, and Messenger

Facebook has launched its new payment service called the ‘’Facebook Pay’’ in the US. This service will allow users to pay people and businesses across Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram. All you need to do is add your payment method once and it will work across any of the Facebook apps through which you can enable the same. You can add your credit or debit card to the Facebook Pay.

You will also have the option to choose if you want this to be available in certain apps or all the Facebook apps. This service will now be available only on Facebook and Messenger to pay to the fundraisers, event-tickets, in-game purchases, person-to-person payments and select the pages on Facebook Marketplace.

Facebook claims it will securely store and encrypt their card and banking account details and also perform anti-fraud monitoring to detect unauthorized activity if any. It will alert the users with notifications about the account activity. Facebook states the payments will be processed in partnership with companies like PayPal, Stripe, and others around the world. This is also a step towards Facebook’s goal of linking its family of apps together.

Last week, Facebook publicized a new colorful logo to make a distinction between the corporate parent company and its apps. This logo alternates between blue for Facebook, purple, red and orange for Instagram and green for Whatsapp. In June, Facebook started adding the words, “from Facebook” to all its apps.
