Mitsubishi Electric to Acquire Industrial Automatic Software Provider ICONICS

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced a 100% acquisition of ICONICS, INC, in Forborough, Massachusetts. It is a V.S. based software company focused on HMI/SCADA, IOT, mobile, cloud software, and analytics products for the industrial, manufacturing, building- automation markets, to acquire the remaining shares, to make the company a 100% subsidiary within the Mitsubishi Electric group.
The partnership will strengthen Mitsubishi’s software portfolio and technology for the manufacturing of automobile markets.

The purchase is issue to regulatory approval and other usual conditions for closing and is expected to close within Mitsubishi electric tax year ending in March 2020. ICONICS is headquartered in Forborough, Massachusetts and is a global software developer of HMI/SCADA, IOS, mobile, clouds software solution for the manufacturing. With over 350,000 installations in over 100 countries worldwide and moving in over 70% of Global and 500 companies, ICONICS software is designed/ recommended for monitoring and automating a customer critical asset.

Human Machine Interface (HMI)/ Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition- software used together with, for example, Programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), Programmable automatic controllers (PAC’s) or other automation products to, for example- monitor, gather data and visualize. It aims to help enhance its software products lineup to realize e-factory. E-factory is an integrated solution based on factory automation (FA) and IT to help to reduce the total cost of developing, producing and maintaining products. It aims to nourish its development capabilities by uniting ICONICS engineering skills, expertise and technology for the development of software products to discern e-factory.
Going ahead, Mitsubishi electric will provide various types of software products to meet data- implementation needs in manufacturing industries and thereby contribute to help improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.
