Researchers from Virginia are said to use the innovative Artificial Intelligence, Brain Imaging / neuroimaging technique to diagnose the mental illness of a patient. The researchers have embraced this move, in order to help patients get improved treatments and also to reduce the rate of mental illness.
According to the latest report, the researchers have trained the machines to study algorithms with brain fMRI scans to analyse brain disorders more appropriately in comparison to the standard diagnosing techniques.
Brain fMRI scans of the patient along with their clinical history have the potential to discover the accurate reason for mental illness and accordingly to get accurate treatments that are effective for the patient, researchers said.
The algorithm has the potential to provide accurate neurological information of a particular patient which helps in understanding when and which of the treatment is effective on the patient. The brain imaging technique will also help in completely eradicating the brain illness or disorder.
The algorithm is fed with the patient’s brain imaging scans, clinical history, behavioural information, blood samples, saliva, psychological analysis. This experimental technique is actually a precision medicine approach that would aid in the betterment of patients.
